Mae Jordan (Laura Gemser) is an internationally acclaimed photographer known as Emanuelle. She flies into Africa for a photographic voyage and stays at the home of Ann and Gianni Danieli. It is not lengthy previous to the breathtaking Emanuelle is being persued by one as well as the other Anna and Gianni as well as their allies Gloria and Richard Clifton but the photographer is not prepared to give in to everything greater quantity than their raunchy wishes and is determined to remain an independent woman.
Released within a year of the enourmously successful Emmanuelle (1974), Black Emanuelle is a complete contrast to the Just Jaekin film and the Emmanuelle Arsan books on which it was based. Emanuelle (with a copyright amicable one 'm') is a globe trotting reporter with a firmly independent raunchy spirit. She of course does not need any 'education' on this topic.
The storyline is a gorgeous basic affair, serving to acquire Emanuelle into Africa and little greater quantity. There are a not many token references to her photography and it does serve to allow the film to use some gorgeous locations but is of no real relevance to the plot, different from some of the later Joe D'Amato films in which this babe will tour to dangerous locations for a story, in this case that babe could easily have just been an invited ally of the Danielis. The inter-relationships betwixt the various characters which would appear to be to have been the main focus of the storyline is too rather thinly drawn with no real emphasis on character development and they all appear to be to openly accept Emanuelle sleeping with their partners - the film of course at no time becomes the melodrama that it would appear to be. As it is, Black Emanuelle is all about presenting a series of stripped and sex scenes, the one and the other str8 and lesbo, with the storyline serving as no thing greater amount than filler - although for this purpose it does work quite well, not ever letting the film drag.
